Customer Reviews

So..... Myself and several co-workers decided to make these helicopters part of our down time while over here in the middle of nowhere... We have several around the shop right now, and I purchased this one...... the other guys all spent about $20 on theirs.... the Syma 107, 108 and 109... that's the Sport, Cobra, and Apache... and I spent $40 on this one when it was on sale (now it's $50). This ones handling doesn't even come close to comparing to theirs... I read up more on the reviews, and for some reason everyone says it's great, but I'm thinking they've just never tried the Symas. I even ordered another knuckle that holds the stabilizer bar to the top rotor, (only came with one), in hopes that it may make it more stable and manageable.. it didn't... Also, after crashing about 15 times, the tail rotor snapped off at the bottom of the curve... I superglued it back on about 4 times, and then drilled holes on either side of the crack and safety wired it back on, and superglued again :) gotta say, it has held up well after all the crashes, and it is manageable to fly, and IT SHOOTS MISSLES which is the major benefit over the Symas........... but overall.... the Symas are definitely more agile, and easily controlled (3 I named anyways), and the batteries last a little longer, and they are WAY quieter, and for less than half the price, I think I would have just gone with one of those.
I upped it to a 4 star, only because it has withstood a major beating, and it shoots missles. It did require the repair of the tail rotor tho, and it doesn't handle as good as it should for the price. and it's loud.

I owned the Syma 108 before I purchased this one. My review will compare between the two.
Cons:
1)Compared to Syma this one flies like a fat cow. Rotating left and right is very responsive but forward and reverse takes like 5 seconds to kick in after you move the control which is really annoying and prone to crashes. The altitude adjustment response is also poor.
2)This one is much noisier. Sounds like a flying lawnmower.
3)Also the left throttle used to control altitude is not spring loaded to throttle down when released like Syma which makes it harder to control the altitude. (A little workaround of tying a rubber band to the throttle stick and anchoring the other end on the bottom of the controller helped. This keeps the tension on the throttle in the downward direction, which automatically pulls the throttle down when you release. This helps control the altitude much better.)
4)Almost double the price of Syma.
Pros:
1)Fires Missiles!
Not so fun for my cat but super fun for me. I'm planing to modify the mechanism to hopefully squirt water instead.
I wish the Syma had this option.
2)Well constructed. The materials used to make this one feel more solid then the Syma.
