I got this last Christmas when amazon has the toy sale, so it wasn't expensive. However, this thing "eats" batteries. We placed the batteries and after 30 minutes the batteries would die. Finally my son abandoned the remote control and just play with the McQueen itself. The car itself is well-made and looks authentic and cute though. My son likes it.

My husband replaced the batteries twice, and it still ddin't work. This car was such a disappointment for my son on Christmas.

Can't control it
My 4 year old has the lightning mcqueen and mater ones. They only operate in forward and reverse and it's sporatic as to which way it will go which in a way makes it fun. Read more
